Wilco – Greek Theater (LA)

Phe-Nom-Enal show by Wilco last night at the Greek Theater. Wilco pulled out a much more rocking set than I’ve seen them bring in previous tours. Also, going sober seems to have turned Jeff Tweedy into quite the sharp wit, man was more charismatic than I’ve ever seen before. Nels Cline? I haven’t seen a lead guitarist rip like that since my last Van Halen concert.

Here’s the setlist courtesy of WilcoBase:

1. You Are My Face
2. I Am Trying To Break Your Heart
3. Side With The Seeds
4. Shake It Off
5. Handshake Drugs
6. A Shot In The Arm
7. Impossible Germany
8. Sky Blue Sky
9. Too Far Apart
10. Pot Kettle Black
11. War On War
12. Via Chicago
13. Jesus, Etc.
14. Walken
15. I’m The Man Who Loves You
16. Hummingbird
17. On And On And On

Encore 1:
18. California Stars
19. Hate It Here
20. I’m Always In Love
21. Outtasite (Outta Mind)

Encore 2:
22. Heavy Metal Drummer
23. Spiders (Kidsmoke)

yep. . . for sure they are in rare form.

i saw them in both berkeley last week and sunday in santa barbara.

although audience in sb is made up of the biggest group of slugs you’ve ever seen (or played to. . ) they pulled it off and played a terrific show.

words can’t describe the beautiful amazing show in berkeley.

they are at the top of their game.

nels cline is simply genius. tweedy’s voice sounds superb.
