Fritto Misto in Santa Monica never disappoints. This family-run Italian restaurant covers all the bases from fettucine to gnocchi and even lets you customize your own dishes. The wine list is short but perfect (I recommend whatever that top Cabernet Sauvignon is.)
The only downsides of Fritto Misto are the popularity of both the restaurant itself, and it’s rest rooms. Since this restaurant only consists of two smallish rooms, and the rest rooms are only “one seaters,” you’ll need to bring your patience and a healthy bladder. Or do what I do, hit up Fritto Misto midweek and avoid all the lines. Personal recommendation: the gnocchi gorganzola.
Fritto Misto is open 7 days a week, M-R 11:30am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 11:30am to 10:30pm, and Sunday 11:30am to 9:30pm.
