So I forgot to mention in my last post but while eating dinner at Palazzio, a girl/woman walked up to our table on the way out and said (maybe drunkenly?) “My husband and I were looking around the room at all the couples and we decided that you’d be the ones we’d want to talk to.” I looked around for her husband and he was B-lining for the door.
Now this is a nice compliment, but the kind of compliment that makes you think.
- What was I doing while this couple was staring at us? Did I go hunting up my nose for a while?
- Did I do that thing where I unconsciously scratch my crotch?
- Does she think we’re retarded? Like “Oh look at those two mentally disabled people, isn’t it sweet how they found one another? I’m going to go tell them how sweet they look.”
I don’t know, but, uh.. thanks.
