I’ve been a big fan of Blake Hazard ever since I saw her open for Evan Dando at TT The Bear’s Place in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I definitely felt a little jilted when she left me for the fun and sun of Los Angeles.

Since then I arrived and prepared for a big reunion, only to find that she’s paired up with her husband John Dragonetti to form the band The Submarines. I’m fine with it, but only because The Submarines are just plain awesome. It’s even getting to the point where you couldn’t ignore them if you wanted to. Indie 103.1 has picked them up, and Nic Harcourt played them just this morning on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. I even saw some guy in Santa Barbara wearing a Submarines T Shirt!
