I was hooked when I first saw those trailers for Cloverfield. Then while looking into the movie more on various fan sites (yes I do that, I am a Sci-Fi Movie Nerd) I immediately thought…monster??? Oh no, not another Godzilla! Well the movie did not let me down and I am excited to pick it up tomorrow when the Cloverfield DVD is released.
It was shot first person and a little shaky like the Blair Witch Project, but definitely not as bad, a lot more manageable for those who get motion sick like my wife, who subsequently had to leave 1/2 way through the movie, leaving me alone in the theater to freak out by myself! The pile of rocks in front of the tent and the voices you could hear “off camera”, hell I’m getting goose bumps just thinking about it. But i digress…I loved Cloverfield, a little shaky camera work but the monster is awesome, plus it’s a major payoff when you finally get to see it and hear the news reports on how it’s destroying the city.
It’s a must buy to watch on your sweet Plasma of LCD TV’s. What no Plasma yet? Go get one buy one along with your Cloverfield DVD or Blu-Ray! I can’t wait to pick it up and watch it tomorrow night on my 47” flat screen!
