If you are in the mood for cupcakes or are looking for a fun place to take a date this weekend, go check out the Cupcake Challenge. Ten bakeries in LA will be showing off their cupcake baking skills and allowing event attendees to pick a winner. The site says this is a contest for the “best cupcakes in Los Angeles”, but I find this hard to believe since they left off two of my would be top choices of Sprinkles in Beverly Hills and Lida’s Bake Shop (see photo) in Sherman Oaks. I mean come on people, to be a true contest has gotta have the BIG players at it. Either way though, this should be a fun event with great wine and cup cakes. Entrance fee is $60, and a percentage of the proceeds will go to support the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
