Disappointing preliminary results for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal SkullI over heard a co-worker this morning talk about the advanced screening he went to over the weekend for the new Indiana Jones movie. He said the first part was great until half way through when it Jumps the Shark. Jump the Shark= That instant when you know from now on, it’s all downhill….(I had to look it up too).

Oh man this is such disappointing news to hear! I am planning on catching it Sunday at the Grove and had such high hope for it. Being a huge Indiana Jones fan since i was a kid, I had been looking forward to it since they announced it last year at Comic Con. Seems like Ironman will be the movie that rules the summer, unless Batman can knock it down as I predicted here in the Snark’s Summer Movie Preview.

But right now I am praying that since i now know this info, I can lower my expectations a bit and enjoy this flick.

Maybe Indiana Jones is too old to be revived with Harrison Ford. They should have casted someone new. And besides releasing it after a superhit like IronMan is like ensuring a dud…

I love how eavesdropping on a co-worker is the basis for your preview. And how can I take this comment seriously when jumping the shark jumped the shark years ago.

Let’s go Indy! Gimme a big tub o’ popcorn loaded with ma…ummm…butter. I’m going to see this film.

I saw it as well yesterday and thought it was pretty solid for an Indy installment. Yeah, there will be a few ‘whaaa?’ moments for some, and a few who think it will transport them back to their childhood, but I’m sure most people will like it.

I’m more interested to hear what kids think honestly.

it seems like the recipe of a good Indiana Jones film would be 1 part Nazis and 1 part biblical artifact… the Soviet army does a pretty good job of replacing the Nazis, but the other ingredient…

    Come Ooon, LA Snark!

You are basing everything on just one person’s opinion?

Indy will make about a 100 million in the first weekend alone, on it’s way to a 300 mill total .

I heard it here first. Or second.

I put lower expectations on movie after i saw IronMan. Haha! I don’t think anything is gonna beat it this year. But then I still haven’t seen and looking forward for Indie, Narnia, SuperHero. =) At least some movies that worth to watch and fill the gap for this year.
