Strategic minded? Want to relive the fun you had as a kid playing board games? Want to regain that personal contact that you don’t get with video games? Come down to the Radisson Hotel LAX this weekend and play some board games!
Board games you say? Oh like Monopoly, Risk or maybe Candyland like I played when I was a kid? Not even close! I was lucky enough to be re-introduced to modern day board games by a friend of a friend about 7 years ago who invited a few people over one night to play a game called The Settles of Catan. Well with one play of that game I was hooked. I would frequently talk to him about games and now 7 years later I own nearly 200 games and play as often as I can.
If you are new to board gaming? Have to no fear, the show organizers have set up a ton of organized games and tournaments where fellow gamers have volunteered to teach new player rules and almost every board gamer I know will gladly walk you through the rules of a game…our attitude is the more people we teach, the more people will have around to play games with.

Board Game Geek is always a great site to send people to get game information. Sounds like a great con you have going on in LA over there too. Too bad I’m all the way up here in Vancouver, but good of you to spread the word!

Hey this is cool. Lots of people undermine the power of board games =) We can learn and apply lots from it not to mention the quality time spent together. Haha! Do update us on how the convention is.
