Do not buy a Samsung DVD Recorder. I purchased the Samsung DVD-VR330 DVD/VCR Combined Recorder from Best Buy in late Dec of 2006 for I believe $199 as it was during a post x-mas sale. It worked fine for a while then sometime in April it stopped working.  I finally got around to taking it back to Best Buy last week to see if it was still on warranty…and of course it’s not. They only offer the 1 year warranty unless you spend extra money to buy the “extended” warranty…which I never do. Well this recordable DVD player last a disappointing 15 months…that is pathetic for a $200 electronic.  Not only am I pissed at Samsung, but the electronics industry all together, it’s this built-in obsolescence which really bothers me.   Giant manufactures that make electronics that need to be upgrade, or just plain stop working within a few years.  What ever happened to the electronics of the 80’s and 90’s?  My Walkman from the early 90’s was still in working order when i gave it to good will 10 years after buying it.  I still have a working Discman from 1994 in my closet gather dust because I don’t even buy CD’s anymore….but it still works 14 years later!  that’s the main point.  My fellow Americans…we are being played by these huge manufacturing companies.  But what can we really do?  HMMMM.
