Directv DVR Won’t Record Shows

WTF DirecTV?  I dumped Time Warner for you because you promised better service, and now I come home once a week to find out that the Red Sox game hasn’t been recorded?  Beyond that, Living Lohan, Denise Richards (Colon): It’s Complicated isn’t recording.  I’ve been on the phone with DirecTV twice so far, and they send some mysterious signal to my box that makes everything fine again.. for at least a week, but then twice so far, the DVR has failed us.  I HAVE RED SOX GAMES TO WATCH PEOPLE.  Don’t you screw with my Boston Fandom DirecTV!

    It all depends on the shows you set to record, I.E In this case your Red Socks game has a Copy Right against recording it. It's what the FCC regulates, and I can understand your frustration.

    That's the craziest comment I've ever seen. All TV shows are copyrighted.

    DirecTV does suck. I just lost a full day of Olympics! It said it was recording, I went to watch it from the beginning. BLACK SCREEN, nothing appears and it says "partial recording" at the top. Then I restart this P.O.S. DirecTV box and the recording has disappeared!! DirecTV sucks!!!! I want my money back!!!!

    so I have my DVR set to record several shows on a daily basis. Everything was working fine until Saturday night. On Saturday night my DVR guide said "to be announced" on every channel. It went away eventually but then I realized that it wasn't recording things I had set up and if it did record it stopped recording in the middle of the show and when i would fast forward, i wouldn't show what minute of the show it was on. It would just stay on the same spot until I pressed play. I reset my DVR and that fixed the FF problem. Then I realized that it still wasn't recording things I had set to record. Now it will record things sometimes and sometimes it won't. I try to set something to record for everyday and it wont let me. I canceled everything I had set and reset everything again. It worked for the 1st 2 shows that I had set but then it stopped again.

    I'm so frustrated!

    Ugh - The same thing has happened to mine... I thought it was only mine that was doing that!!!!

    Interesting...my DirecTV DVR started doing this exact same thing this weekend. I think starting Saturday night it stopped recording scheduled shows.
