I love LA! As I reported last month on the snark, LA colleges got no love as UCLA and USC failed to rank in the top 20 as best party schools according to the Princeton Review. UCSB ranked 9th.
It turns out we can at least take pride in knowing that we weren’t one of the least happiest colleges in the US…poor UC Riverside though got 6th least happiest school! Once again, thank god we live in LA.
Turns out according to the msn article, “Life at Riverside can be “very calm, and the school’s atmosphere in general is very quiet.” and the city of Riverside has “very little to offer in the way of entertainment,” It says activities include including sororities and fraternities, including free movie screenings, concerts, academic discussion forums, plays and trips….LOL! yeah trips to LA!
Top 10 Schools with the Least Happy Students
by The Princeton Review
1. United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, N.Y.)
2. New Jersey Institute of Technology (Newark, N.J.)
3. State University of New York — Stony Brook University (Stony Brook, N.Y.)
4. Fisk University (Nashville, Tenn.)
5. Tuskegee University (Tuskegee, Ala.)
6. University of California — Riverside (Riverside, Calif.)
7. United States Coast Guard Academy (New London, Conn.)
8. New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology (Socorro, N.M.)
9. State University of New York at Albany (Albany, N.Y.)
10. Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago)
The article also says, UC Riversides popular campus hangouts include “a great rec center,” “the student commons” and “a campus movie theater, where some of our classes are held.” OMG when I was in college I rarely stepped foot into any of these areas…it was always off campus to the various bars and house parties.

I went to UCR but actually liked it!! I was there 14 years ago when there was less to do, but I was in a sorority so that took up a lot of my time. I actually proud of having attended UCR!!
