I just can’t seem to stop blogging about Cafe 50′s. You can see my two previous reviews here and here.
As you can see, The Girl and I killed a Greek Omelet (not on the menu, special of the day) and some buttermilk waffles. The Girl swears that the waffles might be the best she’s had in LA. A 50′s style diner shouldn’t be our fav breakfast around as I don’t think it contributes to any hipster cred, but it never disappoints. Swingers is pulling up a little closer now that they have veggie bacon, sausage, and gravy (nudge nudge Cafe 50′s, get some veggie bacon in there and I’m yours forever).
There did seem to be a loud contest going on this morning though. Crazy baby and toddler screams with parents who didn’t seem to phased by it, to a table of loud talking theater types complete with the douchebag in a fedora.
The staff was awesome as usual, maybe they have a zen meditation room tucked behind the kitchen, I’m not sure, but all thumbs up for Cafe 50′s yet again.
Oh, note to self: rent The Louisiana Hussy. I see this 1959 movie poster every time I eat here and it’s now on the top of my to-view list.
