I put the call out to my fellow LA Twitterers to see where I could find the best Sunday brunch on the west side. One of JenHen’s suggestions was Bagel Nosh, so I decided to check it out midweek. I’d read beforehand that it was a serve yourself kind of place, and that’s fine by me, early in the morning I’ll go where I can eat with the least amount of human interaction. I got there and hid out by the door and read the menu. The staff stood around uncomfortably waiting for me to pick something (oh man who’s this new guy?) but I finally decided on two eggs and a bagel. The menu is confusing, I thought my eggs and bagel were coming with potatoes, but apparently not.
I wanted to like this place. I’m from the east coast and I love finding diners and other unpretentious places to hang out at in the Santa Monica area, but the food was pretty tasteless. I really could have stayed home and made myself a better tasting breakfast. I guess if you don’t have time to do that, sure this place could fit the bill, just be sure to add salt. I’ll say this though, the price is right. Dirt cheap breakfast right here.
