MySpace cops Facebook’s “People You May Know” feature

MySpace cops Facebook’s “People You May Know” feature

by Jon on October 28, 2008

So MySpace is continuing to play catch-up with Facebook by, well, stealing all of the features that Facebook offers users.  This was first obvious with the news feed showing your friends’ status reports, and tonight, like millions of others I’m sure, I received this email:

Dear LA Snark,

We’ve added a great new feature to MySpace! Just click the link below, and you’ll be able to automatically find people you may know, and easily add them as friends:

http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=peopleyoumayknow

Also – click the ‘Show More’ link on the page to find even more friends!

Note: you must be logged in on MySpace to view this, if you are not logged in, the link above will take you to the login page first.

Thanks and happy friending.

MySpace

….I logged in, clicked on the link.. waited for the new MySpace machine to work and..

Bravo MySpace, Bravo.

Lack of recommendations aside, unless Myspace learns to poke as well as Facebook, they’re still not going to be cool.

@ Ling, haha remember when it was cool to poke? With the new face life, Facebook applications are so obscure now. But regardless, facebook will always be better in my book, I can’t tell you how many times my wife has been stalked and disrespected on that site. With Facebook I’ve been able to connect to classmates and although the stalking factor is pretty prevalent, it’s usually just your friends hehe.
