I love gnocchi. Like seriously, I love me some gnocchi. The Girl and I were walking down Westwood Blvd one day and I almost passed out when I saw the menu outside of Pomodoro Trattoria. I immediately renamed this place “Gnocchi Land” and swore that I would return to try the gnocchi.
Originally I had planned on going to Fritto Misto because they have the best gnocchi in LA (that I’ve tried so far, FEEL FREE TO SEND ME GNOCCHI TIPS), but I remembered my promise to return to Gnocchi Land and I made good on that promise.
Parking is a f’n nightmare on Westwood Blvd. Rather than work yourself up driving laps around Westwood looking for a parking spot.. park on the side street next to that dry cleaning place on the opposite side of the road (about 3 blocks or so south).
My gnocchi was good.. not as awesome and as Fritto Misto, but The Girl’s bowtie pasta was awesome. It had melted feta on it and all sorts of other goodness. I would definitely recommend Pomodoro Trattoria for an all around Italian restaurant, and it will feel good to go to an Italian restaurant in LA and not be forced to order the gnocchi. I’m branching out, it feels good.
Oh and the price is right.. $42 for 2 entrees and a bottle of wine.
