So if you’re following CES 09 via your favorite tech blogger, you’ll know that Palm (remember the Palm Pilot all those years ago?) came out of NOWHERE yesterday and stunned attendees with a virtual slap to iPhone’s face. That slap is called the Palm Pre and every tech blogger in the world is talking about it, so I guess we should too.
Here are some deets:
- Touchscreen handset with a 3.1 inch 320×480 multitouch display
- Hidden keyboard that slides out from the bottom of the screen
- Ability to flip the phone on it’s side like a Sidekick
- Runs the new webOS platform
- WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth
- 3 megapixel camera with LED flash
- microUSB plug
- Wireless Charger
Sprint will reportedly be the exclusive carrier of the Palm Pre, but the real question is, HOW MUCH WILL THE PALM PRE COST? Palm is currently declining to answer this question but says it will be based on current costs of competing phones. We’ll report back as soon as we hear anything, or feel free to clue us in if you hear some rumors.
