Superbowl snack recipes!

superbowl-snacksCoverage for the game has already started, kick off for Superbowl XLIII is at 3pm PST/6pm EST, your buddy is still asleep on your couch from last night’s festivities, your girlfriend’s/wife’s only request is that you remember to record the Puppy Bowl, and you’re stuck trying to figure out what type of manfood to whip up for the game.

Well here’s  a comprehensive list of everything you’ll need.  Which beer? Which chips?   Superbowl Sunday is about learning!

Beer:  You need beer, you need a lot of beer.  Last time you drank Coors Light that guy from work called you a sissy.  Sissy or not, you’ve got that New Year’s resolution to maintain (how’s that going anyway?)  Here’s a list of all the well known beers with the important details – alcohol content, calories, and carbs.

Chips: Tortilla chips, Lays, Ruffles, Doritos, Fritos.. they’re man d’oeuvres and they’re a necessary accompaniment to the pregame show.  Find out the nutritional content of all the top brands here:

7 Layer Dip Recipe: To compliment the many layers of the male mind, a dip of 7 layers was created.  Here’s a recipe that can be created in only 30 minutes:

Guacamole Recipe:  A guacamole is a fruit, not a vegetable, and there are ways to prepare fruit for your superbowl party that won’t make you look like a fruit.  Fruit.  There I said it again.  Here’s a perfect guacamole recipe:

Chili Recipe: All the LA transplants from places that aren’t 80 degrees in the winter will feel a slight chill in the air when they watch the Superbowl.  Take this chill with a giant bowl of chili.  Here are all the chili recipes you could ever want:

Buffalo Chicken Dip
: Everyone remembers the first time they bit into a buffalo chicken wing.  Well I don’t, but man buffalo anything is awesome.  I usually go with Wishbone Chunky Blue Cheese as my dipping sauce of choice, but apparently there’s an actual buffalo chicken dip.

Vegetarian Superbowl Snacks: My fellow vegetarians and I also feel the desire to man-up on Superbowl Sunday, and as long as you’re near a supermarket with Morningstar of Boca products, you are all good.  Here are the best vegetarian Superbowl snacks:
