I’m not one for jumping on the latest tech gadgets, but when they are only 20 bucks and as cool as the Poken, I am having second thoughts. Think of it as a virtual business card business card that stores your Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn profiles. So instead of carrying around business cards to events, functions, and conferences, you carry around your Poken. Then when you meet a contact you want to exchange info with, you connect the hands of each Poken together which then exchanges virtual profiles with your newly met acquaintance. Then when you get back to your PC you plug your Poken into the USB port on your PC and the info is ready to download.
Sounds really cool, looks cool, but I am very sceptical of it really becoming anything big. I mean nowadays everyone carries a Blackberry, so why not just send them your outlook profile which could then in turn house all your info. This is a cool idea and if it gets someone like Kevin Rose behind it then it’ll take off, if it doesn’t get support from the tech leaders it wont go anywhere. They appear to be sold out in the US, but you can buy them from a UK company Firebox.com.

There are several bloggers selling them online (including myself) so you can get them in the U.S. as well without having to pay for shipping from Europe. These little guys are so much fun!
