Thanks to my friend Rob for posting about this on Facebook:

Way before the Wii, there was a game by Konami called Contra. This game pretty much ruled the land/basement. In the game, you would see a screen flare whenever you earned a free life. Now, you can recreate this free life screen flare using the Konami code on Facebook!

To see the flare, do the following:

Using your keyboard click (with the arrows) up, up, down,down, left, right, left, right, b,a, enter and then click anywhere on the screen.  You should see results like this:
