One Hundred Pushup Challenge

one-hundred-pushupsI’ve always found that it’s easier to stick to a workout plan if there are other people participating that will keep you in check.  That’s why when I started to do the One Hundred Pushups challenge, I thought it would be a good idea to reach out to my Twitter friends and see who wanted in.  I got a good response.  Here are the Twitter users taking part in the One Hundred Pushups challenge:

LA Snark, TeddRoman, CDX, LoLoBennett825, KillTheMic, ShinySpecialOne, SoyLibrarian, HotelCafeJunkie, Mactivist, ANotorias, IvyAugusta, gunman, creamteam, Allijo99

The group challenge is starting today July 6, but you can join in any time if you’d like to start a little later.  Participants are encouraged to log their progress in the comments section below and use the hashtag #hundredpushups.

I’ll see you in 6 weeks for our flexing contest.

There is also a pushup logger associated with the original website, where you can configure it to tweet your updates. I imagine you can add the #hundredpushups tag in the “Comments” field, to help the tracking overall.

I’m squarely in the middle list doing knee=pushups. Day one wasn’t so bad, but I can definitely feel the protest in my shoulders. It’s going to be a tough few weeks.

I’m a girl and have always done “girl pushups”. My initial test was 2 in a row. I am the lowest common denominator, and I don’t know if I’ll make it to 100, but I hope to make it to at least 50!

Ok, so is the picture of the pushup threesome supposed to be motivating or…???

Either way, stoked to be starting today, once I get some work outta the way I’m gonna jump on the train, guessing I can do at least 5 good ones, we’ll soon find out…

Wait you can do these as knee-pushups!? Maybe I should be doing that instead, then if I get to 100 start over again with regular ones?

I dunno I did Day 1, Week 1 today 2/3/2/2/3 as regular pushups and did ok.

yesterday was Week 1/Day 2 for me: 3/4/2/3/10
I think I’m figuring out that I need to rock it and not do just the minimum in each set.
DEFINITELY feelin the burn! This is awesome, thanks Jon, needed something like this to get motivated :)

I’m doing it Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – just to even out the week for you guys.

My initial test was 23. So, I screwed myself and had to start at Week Three.

Just did Week Three, Day Two. 14, 19, 14, 14, MAX (which was about 21).

    Initial exhaustion test: 15.

Might have been able to do another 2 or 3, but wanted to build in the program a little more slowly. I haven’t done any upper body work aside from occasional digging in the yard with a shovel for a long time.

Loving the idea of a group challenge, it gives you even more incentive to meet the targets then just doing it on your own. Did everyone in the group manage to complete the challenge? I did mine a few months back but planning to start again to get that toned feeling back!
