Les Paul (born Lester William Polfuss on June 9, 1915 Died August 13,2009) the legendary jazz guitarist and inventor died today. Best known as the inventor of the electric guitar, he also developed many recording innovations including overdubbing, delay effects, phasing effects, and multitrack recording. A hero to everyone from Jimmy Page, to Slash, to myself, Les Paul changed the face of rock and roll forever.
According to Gibson Guitar, Paul died of complications from pneumonia at White Plains Hospital in New York. His family and friends were by his side. Les Paul was 94 years old.
