Ghetto Vons, the monkey diaper smelling super(?)market that bothered me so much I started this here blog with a post about it, is meeting the wrecking ball in 2011. Curbed LA reports that it will be replaced by a much swankier Pavilions. Will the smell go with it? Will I miss the ability to gaze and wonder about Ghetto Vons while I stare out the window from Cafe 50′s? Will they knock down that mini wall that separates the Ghetto Vons parking lot and the sometimes Halloween store so I don’t have to jump over or walk all the way around? Will someone at Pavilions stand in the recycling line in the parking lot for me so I can recycle three years worth of Diet 7 up and bottom shelf gin bottles?

OMG. I KNOW THAT GHETTO VONS and have always wondered – do people shop there? are all the canned foods already expired?

It was sooo close to my last apartment that it was hard not to go. We learned quickly to just suck it up and head to Ralphs.

Frankly, every Vons I've ever been to is, to some degree, ghetto. I wish the wrecking ball would pay them all a visit. (But, then again, Pavillions is the same thing, plus $1.19 per item.)

I have lived less than a quarter mile from that Vons for 7 years now, and have only gone inside the building twice. However, I have driven into the parking lot – intending full well to shop there – at least 15 times. That place, and the recycling shack in it's parking lot, draws in a seriously shady crowd. I'm soo happy it's going to be gone. Hopefully the riff raff who frequent it's parking lot will be gone as well.

some vons are really nice and others look/smell like this, it's hit or miss I find.

Oh man I HATE that Vons…we dubbed it stinky Vons. Good Riddance!
