With all the craziness swirling around NBC’s late night lineup, I thought it’d be a good time to check out the 1996 TV movie The Late Shift. The Late Shift dramatizes the, uh.. drama that went down between David Letterman and Jay Leno when Johnny Carson left the Tonight Show in 1992. I heard David Letterman mention something about Jay Leno hiding in the closet and eavesdropping on NBC execs as they decided who would be the new host. Paul Shaffer mentioned that it was depicted in The Late Shift, so I figured I’d bump it to the top of my Netflix queue. Apparently others had the same idea. Oh well, My Kid Could Paint That is supposed to be pretty good.
Since that movie won’t be arriving in the mail anytime soon, just check it out here:

i really don’t have time for this…..the finale of ‘JERSEY SHORE’ is on!!!!!
yikes.
Getting real sick of Dave Letterman cutting Jay Leno Down, Grow up. I am a 66 year old Grandmother, and I have lost all respect for David Letterma.Mary
66 year old grandmothers love Leno.
Says it all, really.
Mary is a retard…which sounds about right for a Leno fan….
Leno's a snake. He deserves everything Letterman is giving him.
Ah, 66 year old grandmother. Leno's target audience.
Lighten up Mary. Leno is a d-bag, from what all people in the business say. He's only getting what he deserves. Read what everyone is saying and you'll see that there isn't anybody anywhere who's ready to stand up and take his defense.
Here's a new link for those who still want to see The Late Shift on YouTube: http://tinyurl.com/yccepn7
