KCRW (89.9FM and KCRW.com) will be coming out of the studio and into communities across Los Angeles this summer, offering our trademark groundbreaking music programming to the public for free in a series of all ages, outdoor shows in Pasadena, Santa Monica, Chinatown and beyond.
KCRW launches the “Summer Nights” series in June with two great performances at One Colorado — in the heart of historic Pasadena, amongst the 19th century architecture, cobblestone and charm of Old Town. Hot Hot Heat will deliver a semi-acoustic set of rock and roll fueled by highly infectious melodies on Saturday, June 12 from 7:30 to 9:30pm, hosted by KCRW DJ Dan Wilcox, followed by a set of rollicking Americana from local favorites Everest on Saturday, June 26 from 7:30 to 9:30pm, hosted by KCRW DJ Chris Douridas.

Starting in July, KCRW will present a handful of concerts at California Plaza in Downtown LA as part of the Grand Performances series, including shows with Miguel Atwood Ferguson, Nortec Collective, Caravan Palace and more.
Also, the public radio station is the radio sponsor for Chinatown Summer Nights, a four-week festival on Saturdays throughout August. Part summer party, part food event, Chinatown will host KCRW DJs, art installations, the best of LA’s food trucks and more.
All events are free, all ages, and open to the public with no RSVP required. Stay tuned for additional show announcements for KCRW’s “Summer Nights.”
