Last night, after a two-week break from The Daily Show, Jon Stewart debuted a new look. For the first time that I’ve seen, Jon Stewart parodied the news through the soft snowy ring of a goatee. He opened the show by addressing the new facial hair, poking jokes at it but never quite explaining it. This can mean only one thing: That thing is planning to stick around. Remember when Matt Lauer sent shock waves through mini kitchen tv’s throughout America by getting a crew cut? Well turn on your tv now, that crew cut is still there. Jon Stewart’s goatee may stay with us through the years too.
