According to Buzzbands LA, Spaceland Productions, the promoters behind Spaceland for the past 15 years, is parting with the venue’s owner. Starting next year the venue will be called the Satellite. Cool name, but I always loved the name Spaceland (I hope the sparkle curtains stay!)
I’ve been to many, many shows at Spaceland. Favorites include The Lemonheads, Spacehog, Amusement Parks on Fire, and soo many others. Being a west sider, it’s hard to get out there and back on a weekend night, but Spaceland always made it worth the trek (except that time I forgot my wallet at the bar and had to go back the next day, that was not fun.)
