Announcing The Cupcake Challenge this Sunday in Hollywood

If you are in the mood for cupcakes or are looking for a fun place to take a date this weekend, go check out the Cupcake Challenge. Ten bakeries in LA will be showing off their cupcake baking skills and allowingLida’s Bake Shop in Sherman Oaks event attendees to pick a winner. The site says this is a contest for the “best cupcakes in Los Angeles”, but I find this hard to believe since they left off two of my would be top choices of Sprinkles in Beverly Hills and Lida’s Bake Shop (see photo) in Sherman Oaks. I mean come on people, to be a true contest has gotta have the BIG players at it. Either way though, this should be a fun event with great wine and cup cakes. Entrance fee is $60, and a percentage of the proceeds will go to support the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

    i LOVELOVELOVE Leda’s! (btw you spelled it “Lida’s). I think it is so much better than Sprinkles and their vegan cupcakes are divine!

    Sprinkles is sooo overated… there were at least 4 bakers better then them.. My event favorite was Leyna’s Strawberrilicious ones!! I had to grab 2!! I also liked the coconut one from Larks Bakery. Yumm yummy.
