The Snark loves Britney Spears, and it doesn’t get any better than hearing her on stage saying “my pussy is hanging out” as she had a wardrobe malfunction during a live performance in Tampa Florida last night. Here is a clip shot from the balcony of the show. Listen towards the end when the lights go down when Britney goes into her verbal fit.
Holy Crap! Have you heard this yet? The National Sports Collectors Convention and SportsBuy.com are offering the infamous Cubs fan Steve Bartman $25,000 for a single autograph. It’s the highest amount ever offered for a single autograph! Remember him? He’s the guy who knocked a foul ball away from Moises Alou during game 6 of the Cubs’ National League Championship Series game against the Florida Marlins. Every baseball fan will remember that moment…and I think every baseball fan is now saying WTF!!! It’s gotta be a PR stunt..and if you think about it…the press on this is worth $25,000!
You get famous enough and you face a choice. “Either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain.” That’s a piece of advice the Caped Crusader offers to himself near the end of The Dark Knight. He could easily be talking about the recently deceased Heath Ledger, who turned in a stylish performance as the Joker before making the easy choice in early 2008, checking out by turning himself into a walking pharmacy due to the pressures of fame. Ledger’s performance is what most reviewers have written about ad nauseam. Waxing especially moronic, one online critic claimed she was so bummed by her belief that Ledger’s death was likely caused by the darkness which his role forced him to confront that she was going to boycott the film. Here’s a newsflash for that airhead, Ledger was a heavily self-medicated unstable insomniac headed for a crash long before a heavy-handed, overlong script for a Christopher Nolan action pic entered his life.
Ledger’s performance is effective in a sort of Christian Slater does Nicholson with some gay camp icon whose name I can’t recall thrown in for good measure. The gay element puts Ledger’s distinctive stamp on the Joker character. It also recalls the LA Times’ remark that his performance in Brokeback
Mountainwas “an apparent gay spoof.” That comment was a tit-for-tat remark after Ledger giggled when presenting an award for Brokeback Mountain at the SAG Awards in 2005. To keep it real, Ledger was a pretty boy who, given the right role, could pull off a charismatic performance. But to read the sort of necrophile-ish praise he’s been receiving for the Joker is more stomach-turning than to hear about another young star joining the 27 Club, even one who was 28 when he died.
I just threw a birthday party for my 4 year old twins and we upgraded this year to a Combo Bouncer (bouncer w/ silde) for $150 from Awesome Bounce. We had a regular bouncer for $95 from them last year . This company is the best, free included delivery. Plus last year we were able to pay extra at the last minute to keep the bouncer til 11pm for the adults to jump in since all the kids were in bed. I did a lot of research ahead of time and here are some top jumper rental places serving Southern California…
That’s right, as Chad mentioned in the comments of this 90210 post, the Kokomo Cafe just off Fairfax is going to be the new hangout for the kids on the new 90210 spinoff. There go my dreams of walking up Fair Oaks in Pasadena to see the facade of the old Peach Pit location decorated again, but I can change with the times.. plus the Kokomo Cafe is closer to my apartment. [ad#inpost300]Someone forwarded these pictures to me yesterday, don’t know why I did not hear about this til now, but WTF is Carrot Top thinking? Why is Carrot Top on steroids? Does a skinny 40 year old comic really need to juice it up? Was he not already scary enough looking? How can he think this looks good. The dude looks like a freak. His face looks like Micheal Myers from the Halloween Movie series. Plus it totally looks like he had some weird face lift on top of it. When I first saw these I could not believe what I was seeing, I first thought this that HAS TO BE Photo Shopped! So then I scoured Google and YouTube and sure enough it’s the real deal. Carrot Top is on Steroids and has lost his mind!
What is up with those shoulders…implants? It that possible? They just DO NOT look right!
This is so classic. A friend of mine Jonathan Nail, an Actor, (hey it’s LA we all have friends that are actors or in the biz right?) sent me the below video he shot on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica outside the AMC 7 interviewing people about “Prince Caspian”. He starts out playing it straight asking legitimate questions then moves on to questions like, “What did you think of Peter North’s performance in the film” to “What did you think of the film’s Pro-Christian theme” to which he got a response of “It was very Christianal”. LOL! I don’t know who is funnier Jonathan or the people he interviewed. Checkout his Ask You Movie Review of the Prince Caspian Movie here.

NOTE: This Convention happens three times a year and lasts from Friday afternoon til Monday afternoon and as of now is the ONLY Board Game Convention in the city:
Board games you say? Oh like Monopoly, Risk or maybe Candyland like I played when I was a kid? Not even close! I was lucky enough to be re-introduced to modern day board games by a friend of a friend about 7 years ago who invited a few people over one night to play a game called The Settles of Catan. Well with one play of that game I was hooked. I would frequently talk to him about games and now 7 years later I own nearly 200 games and play as often as I can.
If you are in the mood for cupcakes or are looking for a fun place to take a date this weekend, go check out the Cupcake Challenge. Ten bakeries in LA will be showing off their cupcake baking skills and allowing event attendees to pick a winner. The site says this is a contest for the “best cupcakes in Los Angeles”, but I find this hard to believe since they left off two of my would be top choices of Sprinkles in Beverly Hills and Lida’s Bake Shop (see photo) in Sherman Oaks. I mean come on people, to be a true contest has gotta have the BIG players at it. Either way though, this should be a fun event with great wine and cup cakes. Entrance fee is Continue reading →
