Holy sHIIT!

So our friend over at DrunkDrummer.com just dropped 22 pounds by doing crazy interval training and resistance training.  He found his workout here.  Now technically what the workout calls for as far as cardio is, not interval training as it doesn’t allow your body time to cool down to a much lower heart rate before going all-out again, but hey, what works works.

Like the workout says, I hopped on the treadmill and did a warm up jog for five minutes at 5 mph.  Then I sprinted at 9 mph for a minute, and then ran at 6 mph for two minutes.  I repeated the sprint and run 2 more times.  Admittedly, I cheated a little and took a 3 minute walking break before hitting the last interval set because, well, God damn, I’ve never seen 9.0 on a treadmill before.

So while technically not interval training based on heart rate, it is super High Intensity Interval Training (sHIIT) and I’m anxious to see if I can get the same results DrunkDrummer has.
