E News is reporting that Shannen Doherty, better known as Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills 90210, has agreed to join the cast of the new Beverly Hills 90210 spinoff. We’re waiting on details as far as what her character will be doing, but after all these years of wanting Brenda to rejoin the cast of 90210 to add a little drama, this is great news.
Nat, will also be part of the show, and will make guest appearances as the owner of the . Luke Perry (Dylan) mentioned on the Billy Bush Show that he “can’t currently see” himself joining the cast. I’m sure that could change if the show were to pay off and promise a nice paycheck.
So now we have Brenda, Kelly, Donna, and Nat (Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, and Joe E. Tata) officially rejoining the cast. Nat as you’ll notice is the only male cast member to announce his involvement in the new show.
As far as Brandon, (Jason Priestly) ShowbizSpy.com reports:
He says, “I think I sort of ran the gamut with Brandon 249 episodes. I think Brandon did his time.”
But the 38-year-old claims he hasn’t turned down working behind the scenes, and would love to direct a few of the new episodes.
He adds, “They’re talking to my people about seeing if they can slot me in over there. I directed more episodes of 90210 than anybody. I directed 18 episodes.”
Brian Austin Green (David Silver) has said that he will not rejoin the cast, and is currently a part of the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles show. He’s also recently ended his engagement with Transformers star Megan Fox. If B.A.G. doesn’t resurrect his character of David Silver, I guess we can assume that things didn’t work out with David and Donna either.
What about Ian Ziering and Gabrielle Cateris (Steve and Andrea)? Ian has said that he is interested.. no word from Gabrielle yet, though Andrea’s daughter would be the right age to be a member of the new young cast.. as would Erin Silver.
All this anticipation building up.. let’s hope it’s not the huge letdown that a lot of us are expecting.
