via TechZone360:

Did you know that U.S. technology assists Al-Qaeda, Jihadist groups, corrupt Middle Eastern governments and anti-American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan? Did you also know that there is little we can do to stop it?

According to this FoxNews report, the group-discussion service, vBulletin is made by a California company known as Internet Brands. This platform is used by more than 10,000 jihad groups throughout the world to plan strategies and recruit members.

Well if Fox News says it, it has to be true.. (..and if it is true, it’s pretty creepy.) I wonder what kind of animated gif memes they have going on in the forums over there.

Because if there’s one thing regular McDonald’s patrons need, it’s recliners.

Right now, the only reason most adults stop and sit awhile at their local McDonald’s (MCD)is to watch their kids hang out at the indoor playground. That or because they have no place to take the take-out, since they work out of their car or truck.

Well, the king of fast food hopes to change that with a massive makeover of its 14,000 U.S. restaurants. McDonalds plans to do away with its fiberglass tables and steel chairs to make the restaurant an inviting destination with padded recliners and warm painted interiors that help customers linger — and maybe spend a few extra bucks.

McDonalds apparently missed the memo that sitting too much can be deadly. Oh, and I hear the food isn’t too healthy either.

File this under “things that happen within a mile of my apartment that I don’t hear about.”

A 60-year-old homeless man was indicted Tuesday on federal explosives charges in connection with a blast last month outside a Santa Monica synagogue.

Ron Hirsch faces charges including detonating an explosive device April 7 outside the Chabad House, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles.

He fled California on a bus, but was apprehended several days later in Cleveland.

If you’ve seen or heard about the cinematic turd named “Catfish” you’ll be both interested and shocked that the premise of that faux-documentary actually happened in real life. Catfish is the story of a dude with a tramp stamp that forms a relationship with a girl and her family online. Things start to seem fishy and he tracks her down only to learn that it was a creepy old lady pretending to be a young woman and her various family members.

Even though they had never met, Bonhomme left an unhappy marriage in Los Angeles and was set to move to Colorado in 2006 when she learned James was dead. He hadn’t told anyone else of his diagnosis, James’ sister said, and didn’t want a memorial service. “You all have temples within you,” he wrote in a last note, “go there if you want to honor me.”

Yeah but “James” wasn’t really dead.. Hell, he wasn’t even real. Read the full article here: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-met-suburban-hoax-20110425,0,4058747,full.story

Well I read this headline a little too late.

Meanwhile, L.A. City Councilman Bill Rosendahl urged Westside residents to plan activities at home during the period the president will be moving around or face “putting yourself into potential gridlock.”

Obama will arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at 2:45 p.m. He will spend some time at a fundraiser at the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City. He is scheduled to dine at the Tavern restaurant in Brentwood. It’s unclear where he will spend the night, but the president is scheduled to depart from LAX about 9 a.m. Friday, at the heart of the morning commute.

I’ve been finding myself on the  Venice boardwalk way too often lately. I was actually planning on biking down to Venice Beach and would probably have been part of this crowd yesterday (I can’t resist a flash mob.) Scary stuff.

A man was in critical condition after a shooting Saturday on the Venice boardwalk that sent hordes of onlookers running pell-mell into the streets, police said Sunday.

“It looked like a human tidal wave,” said Spencer L. Sirlin, 27, a Hollywood booking agent who witnessed the attack.

West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies are on the scene of a traffic collision where an (allegedly) drunk driver (allegedly) tried to flee the scene.

The accident happened at about 6:30PM on Santa Monica Blvd near San Vicente, in front of Fiesta Cantina.   The report said that a large Hummer ran into a much smaller Kia.

Happy Birthday Barbie!

by Jon on March 9, 2011

Barbie is 52 years old today, and proof that plastic surgery and career jumping does a woman wonders.

I really need to get some female writers on this site.
