We’re still pretty new to the Twittersphere, but it’s a little disheartening to build up a solid following and a great group of people to follow only to have them disappear more and more every day. At first we had to take a look at our previous tweets and LA Snark stories and wonder if we entered something so offensive that almost 300 people would stop following us (man who did Greg Oguss offend now..?) After looking into it a bit more, it seems everyone is complaining about losing followers. Apparently it’s been going on for over a month now, and there have been other issues including not being able to follow new users. I’ve come face to face with the Fail Whale numerous times in the last week, and one can’t help but wonder if Twitter is going the way of Myspace during the constant error period before Fox came in and basically turned the site into Facebook.

The Twitter blog says they hope to have 95% of follower/followee relationships restored by 7pm Pacific. Maybe that’ll make us like best friends if you added us twice.

They’re also deleting spammer profiles so many people are losing follower numbers for a good reason!
